The seeds in our lives are planted when we hear something, whether it is from parents or teachers or friends or bullies, bosses, or coworkers. Seeds are the way we are treated or how we are defined by those people. It's up to us whether we plant them by believing and nurturing those seeds or we throw them aside and say, "That's not true. That's not who I am. I will nurture the seeds that fall in line with my life or the life I want to live."
Some of those seeds makes us feel like we've been beaten down by life, whether it was in school, at work, or abuse by parents, by bullies, or by beating ourselves up. Some of those seeds are traumas we have survived, such as illness, grief, or infertility that knocks us down; anything that's beaten us down in life.
But we can still get up. Circumstances don't have to define us. We can make the choice to live the life that we want to live regardless of what's happened in the past. That's a decision we have to make. I want you to know that you are not the only one who has been through it, whether it was being bullied as a kid, or abuse growing up or in relationships. If you’re like me, you start believing that you weren't good enough or what you did didn't seem good enough. No matter how hard you've been beaten down you can still be a badass because it's already in you. You just have to make the choice to be that badass yourself. Your scars are beautiful, they don't define you, they just show you the roadmap to your true passion. What God intended you to do. You are beautifully broken.
